More Info on Biker Jeff York

I am Jeffrey A. York, a multi faceted individual that bores quickly. I have enjoyed what I feel to be an interesting life, doing many different things in work and play.

In my professional life I have worked as a Radio Installer, Ranch Hand (Cowboy), Electrician, Welder/Machinist, Satellite Service/Repair, Wood Carver, Heavy Equipment Operator, Store Manager, Computer Specialist, Network Admin, Network Engineer, Network Security Consultant, Telecommunication VOIP Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, QA director, Senior Communications Technician, T&IS Supervisor and now having fun as a motorcycle Technician for South Bay Triumph. I also work as a Voice Over Talent and Session Musician, now they have me doing a reality TV Show. I am having a BLAST!!!

My off time enjoy bicycles, motorcycles/scooters, acoustic guitars, amateur radio, target shooting, fishing, hunting and prospecting. Of course I like to take time to go to dinner, watch a movie or just relax with some good music, good whiskey and a fine cigar.

I try to stop and enjoy the simple things in life. Like a beautiful sunset at the beach, the smell of pine trees after the rain or the deafening silence of the desert.

I have had some great mentors in my life to give me structure in my life spiritually and professionally.

As I look back on my life, of coarse there are things I wish could have been different. However, that is what makes us who we are today. To ask ourselves the question we ask ourselves.

The older I get, the more I realize my ignorance and how very short our time is in this existence. I strive to cultivate patience and tolerance of our surroundings and others.

I do not know what tomorrow will bring. However, I will do my best to look for the good in all.

I enjoy HAM radio as a hobby.  I spend several hours a year as a volunteer communicator for events in different cities.  Such as:  The Rose Parade, Manhattan Beach Grand Prix, and Special Olympics.  Just to name a few.

I like to relax and play acoustic guitar and even sing a little.  I am a strong 2nd guitar player, and though play many different guitars; my Martin HD35 is my favorite.

On march 15th of the year 2005.  I went in for laparoscopic Roux en Y Gastric Bypass at USC Department of surgery.  Namir Katkhouda, MD performed the operation.  Dr. Katkouda'?s method is a little different than most in that he uses stitches for the connections instead of staples.

At the year-end of 2004 I was over 400 pounds.  Not having a scale to weigh myself at that weight, I believe I was close to 425lbs.  I worked hard to lose weight for the surgery upsetting everyone with my harsh demeanor and even being counseled at work for it.  Loosing some weight makes it easer to do the procedure laparoscopic if the skin is loose.   The surgery was hard to deal with for the first six months.  However now, after almost a year has past the results are unbelievable.  My weight is down to 200lbs and feel overall better now than I have in probably all my life.  I do not take any medications anymore.  My Diabetes is gone.  I only take a couple of vitamin supplements a day now.  I really enjoy exercising and physical work now.  I have got back into bicycle riding and it is not unlike me now to go 120 miles at a stretch.  My normal workout is about 40 miles and average 22mph.  I have gone from a size 64+ waist to now a 34X34.  Shirt size is down from 5XL to between L and XL.

I am totally open about all I went though.  If you have a question, please feel free to email me
